Getting Started

Getting Mody running takes a couple of minutes. This section walks through inviting the bot and finding your way around the dashboard, then suggests a few good places to start.

Set up the basics

1. Invite the bot to your server.
2. Open the dashboard and select your server. The setup wizard gives you a quick tour the first time.
3. Open Modules to switch features on. Each one stays off until you enable it, so you only run what you need.

Features are grouped in the sidebar, and most have a short setup of their own. You can turn any feature on, try it, and turn it back off whenever you like.

Where to go next

Not sure what to set up first? These are the features most servers start with:

• Keep the server safe. Turn on Automod to catch spam and rule-breaking messages automatically, and use Moderation to track warnings, mutes, and bans in one shared log.
• Welcome new members. Welcome & Goodbye greets people when they join, and Auto Roles can hand every new member a starting role.
• Let members help themselves. Reaction Roles let members pick their own roles by reacting to a message.
• Reward activity. Levels gives members XP and a leaderboard as they take part.

Ask the Assistant

Can't find a setting, or not sure which feature does what you want? Open the Assistant and ask in plain language. It knows how your server is set up and can point you to the right place.
